Taekwondo Knock Out

Decided to go to GIF images instead of JPG's.  Better color recognition for drawing or sketching (not as many colors).  I certainly don't need all the colors that a JPG has to offer.  Also, GIF images are generally smaller in file size.

Here is an example of how to sketch using the stick figure on steroids method.

Turned out pretty good.  I am liking this one.

Stick Figures on Steroids

The basics for starting out sketching is to start with a simplified version in the form of a stick figure.  Saves time on figuring out the space on the paper and getting the poses correct before committing time to the detail parts of the sketch.

Add volumetric cylinders to the stick figures and now you have a stick figure on steroids.  Add the intricate detail to finalize your sketch. (Not shown)

This method saves time, gets the poses right and fills the space on the paper the way you want before committing to the final details.

Rhino from Spider-man

More practice with MS Paint.  I found these drawings in the same spider-man coloring book as a previous post of Cat Woman and as before with Cat Woman took a digital picture of them and then traced them using MS Paint.  I think my technique is getting better and that the drawings turned out pretty good.

Using MS Paint, with only the brush tool, and the eraser of course.
 Need to learn how to use the curve tool.

How to Trace a Picture with MS Paint

Trace over the picture with a color not in the picture.

• Usually green or red works great.

Erase all the Black in the picture.

• Use the eraser with black set as the primary color and white as the secondary color and erase all the black in the picture holding down the right mouse button.

Change your traced color to Black using the eraser.

• Set your primary color to match your traced color and the secondary color as black.
• Then using the eraser as before, with the right mouse button held down, erase your traced color.

Invert Colors.

• Image, Invert colors from the menu or Ctrl+I

Change the attributes to Black and White.

• Image, Attributes, Black and White radio button from the menu or Ctrl+E

Change the attributes back to Colors.

• Image, Attributes, Colors radio button from the menu or Ctrl+E

Invert Colors again.

• Image, Invert colors from the menu or Ctrl+I

You are then left with a Black line traced picture.
